Are you ready to transport back to the heyday of techno, bleep and breakbeat? Well, dust off your glow sticks and clear some space on the dance floor, because we’re bringing you the remastered Bass Build by the legendary trio behind Liquid Son!
Originally released on a 12” back in 1991, Bass Build with its infectious rhythms and addictive bass lines is still 30 years on a sound to behold, and demands top dollar in the marketplace.
The title track features a familiar voice from Liquid Son, Neil Chisolm, having a rush while the Detroit-style techno track lifts him up to the skies.
Binary Rhyming guest features fellow Bedford producer Tony Boninsegna (a one-man dancefloor hit-factory), who together with Jason Adkins concoct a Kraftwerk-sampling breakbeat giant that had to be banned from Boston Dynamics facilities, for it was making the robots do windmills.
The final cut, Oh Man! sounds like what Mr. Oizo might have released on Ed Banger using only rudimentary analogue hardware in the early 90s. Truly visionary!
Digital Justice was a project by the producer Adkins formed with school friend Neil Chisolm and ‘executive producer’ Sean Smith. Bass Build remained the only release under the project title, which saw the light of day in the same year as Liquid Son’s classic Tone Float (reissued on vinyl by Cold Blow & Musique Pour La Danse).
The EP was originally written by Adkins on an Atari sampler, Replay 16, and produced at Tony Boninsegna’s studio in Queens Park, Bedford.
